Getting Inspiration

Sometimes figuring out a new way of wearing certain clothing items can be difficult.
I know i get stuck in wearing things the same way every time.
I also put together my outfits in the same style.
Basically it can be hard to mix things up.

So how can you get out of that habit?
-see how they style their outfit and get ideas from them
2. Go on pinterest and look through the "womens apparel" section
-it is a wonderful way of seeing how other women style themselves
-try to find outfits with similar pieces to what you already own
3. Look to polyvore for styling advice.
-they have a section where you can ask how to style an outfit or what you can wear with a certain article of clothing or what to wear for a certain occasion.

I use blogs and pinterest most when it comes to fashion inspiration.

So i've been having some eye problems.
Basically my eye has been red for a couple of weeks and just the other night some sharp pains were added to the mix.
It's some fun stuff...ok not so much.
The past two days i haven't put on makeup in hopes that the issues wouldn't escalate.
Well last night i had a goopy eye and woke up throughout the night with my eye sealed shut with crustiness. Yes i just went there. It was a very interesting experience to say the least.

Today on the bus ride to school i kept my sunglasses on. It was mainly because my eye is extra sensitive and also so that i wouldn't scare people away.
The bus got crowded which meant someone would have to sit next to me.
The most talkative older, not quite all there, woman sat next to me.
She told me i was picturesque (she clearly couldn't see my eye) and then proceeded to tell me all about herself.
(her appreciation for the warm weather, how she just got new shoes-the ones she was wearing and a pair of boots she got on sale at reflections at the mall, her living by the shore, her swimming in the bay everyday, her losing 70 pounds, her telling me about her children and their weddings and how one just honeymooned in Canada and ice skated on the frozen lake, she showed me wedding pictures, showed off a ring that her mother gave her and told me how she would give it to one of her daughter in laws someday)
As weird as it was, i really enjoyed sitting and listening to her and her stories. Sometimes people just need to talk to someone and be listened to. It was a great reminder of why not to wear headphones on the bus. IF  i had been listening to music i would have missed out on such a neat experience. I encourage you to be open to random conversations with complete strangers (whether it be on the bus, at school, in a waiting room, etc.) you never know what it could mean to that person.

This afternoon i had a doctors appointment to get my eye looked at.
Apparently it is a bacterial infection.
The good news is that I was prescribed medication for it.
Yay for meds and infections clearing in the near future.

Even though it was in the 80s today i still wore jeans and a sweater.
It may be warm outside but inside it's still cold.

Take Two

Today was the second day of the spring semester.
It was also my early late day.
I had a 9:30am class and then go back to school for a 7pm class.
Thankfully my night class is only once a week.
The weather was so nice today. Sunny... but there was still a chill in the air, especially this morning.
Since it was so nice out i was able to take pictures of todays outfit.

first of the last

Today was the first day of my last real semester of college classes.
I went to bed early last night and it made it fairly easy to get out of bed this morning. Well as easy as it could be on a rainy wish you could stay in bed all day kind of morning.
I truly appreciated my coffee this morning.
I must say it tastes so much better at 6am when you really don't want to be awake.

Since it was raining and i came home spotted with water, i changed directly into sweatpants.
Basically there is no real photo of todays outfit.
Here is what i compiled to give you an idea of what my outfit looked like.
(different coat, backpack, scarf, and umbrella)

Hello Yellow

Yesterday Erin and I ventured over to 4th street for a pile sale.
We expected to go through piles of vintage clothing to find some great new old pieces.
Little did we know that it was one giant pile that had to be conquered.
Erin braved the heap and made it to the top of the pile.
In the pile, she found a cute vintage yellow cropped wool sweater/jacket, which i payed $4 for.
Here is how i wore that sweater.

Kate Spade on a Budget

I love Kate Spade, but who can honestly spend over $400 dollars on a cute dress.
I surely can't.
The key to getting the "kate spade look" is knowing the key elements of the clothing.
Color, Stripes, Color blocking, and Bows
If you can find those elements in a dress, you can accomplish the kate spade look.

Adventures in Los Angeles

On Tuesday me and my friend Erin took a trip to LA with the intent of visiting the filming locations from (500) days of summer. Well we accomplished that and more. After walking downtown LA for almost 3 hours (a great workout by the way...who knew LA had hills) we felt well cultured and gained a new love for architecture.

(in case you didn't figure it is what i wore)
