Brining the sunshine

Yesterday was so grey and cloudy. I decided i wasn't going to let the ugly weather get me down, so i chose to make my own sunshine. I put on the brightest (maybe 2nd brightest) yellow shirt i own. I think it worked. I got to spend the day in Beverly Hills with a dear friend who i hadn't seen since January (i couldn't believe it had been that long). We spent the day window shopping, exploring decorating stores,  and eventually looking at an apartment for her to rent (which happens to be perfect.... praying it works out), and getting dinner at CPK all while dodging rain drops. This wonderful day ended with a gorgeous bright pink sunset as we drove home from LA.

Here are a few pics from the day

Just kidding....
Well i just learned that there is a storage limit for photos. Apparently I have hit my limit. So until i fix this problem without buying a monthly plan i will try and recreate my outfits on polyvore and link you to them. Oh google/blogger how you create problems that i didn't even know were possible.

Substitute for photos

It has been a very interesting week. Because of all the craziness i never got around to taking pictures of my outfits. In leu of photos i used polyvore to create my outfits. They aren't exactly what i wore but they will give you an idea of what they looked like. Enjoy the slideshow and feel free to go over to polyvore to see where these items are from.

Oh just so you know i don't pay over $40 for any single item. So if you go to polyvore and the price is high, it isn't the actual item i wore.

What i actually wore:
Monday...Blazer: Charlotte Russe, Necklace: Forever 21
Tuesday Morning...Blazer: Charlotte Russe, Dress: Old Navy, Shoes (were black not bronze)
Tuesday Night... Completely Accurate
Wednesday...Sweater: Old Navy (and had a flower detail), Blouse: Macys (had cap sleeve and belted waist)
Thursday...Sweater: Target Mossimo, Tshirt: Target, Necklace: Gift (and i know it didn't cost as much as the one shown)

Flattered

Last night i quickly put together an outfit on polyvore then posted it on pinterest.
Within an hour it had over 20 repins.
It is a great feeling to know that people like something i "made"-styled/put together.
I was so flattered...i just thought i would share that.

FYI: you can follow me on pinterest to see all of my polyvore outfit stylings.

Kate Spade on a Budget

I love Kate Spade, but who can honestly spend over $400 dollars on a cute dress.
I surely can't.
The key to getting the "kate spade look" is knowing the key elements of the clothing.
Color, Stripes, Color blocking, and Bows
If you can find those elements in a dress, you can accomplish the kate spade look.

Adventures in Los Angeles

On Tuesday me and my friend Erin took a trip to LA with the intent of visiting the filming locations from (500) days of summer. Well we accomplished that and more. After walking downtown LA for almost 3 hours (a great workout by the way...who knew LA had hills) we felt well cultured and gained a new love for architecture.

(in case you didn't figure it out...here is what i wore)

{Details}
Sweater: Forever 21, Necklace: target (can be found on etsy), Purse: Forever 21, Jeans: American Eagle, Boots: Soda

Dress Like Rachel Berry

I may not be loving glee so much these days, but i still love to see what the cast is wearing. So many of Rachel's looks can be found on ModCloth. So they aren't the exact thing she wears, but you can accomplish her style quite easily. Here are just a few Rachel Berryesque dresses.
